Inspiring Commentary from Peggy Kelsey, Houston, TX -- Regarding Recent Flight Home From 3rd Annual Dept of Peace Conference in Washington DC

Normally, I can't focus enough to get any work done when I fly places, but this time, I got a whole row to myself, so I got a change to read all of the material I'd collected from the conference and write a speech about the DoP [Dept of Peace] for my Toastmasters group as well as do some personal business. I arrived for my flight out to Houston just as it was boarding and as I was getting on the plane, the stewardess noticed my button and asked about the DoP. She dragged me into her alcove where there was also a little old lady and I went into my spiel. I was sure to talk about how it's not anti-military and told about how it would in fact support our soldiers with additonal tools. She asked if I had any extra buttons, and so I gave her a second one that a friend had given me. She put it on her uniform and I went to my seat.

I sat next to two fabulous professional women and we exchanged what we do and I also got to tell them about the DoP. One of them may also be able to hire me to do an Afghan Women's Project type of photo shoot with her clients who are kids with health issues in DC. Then the stewardess came back saying that a man in the back of the plane saw her button and wanted to know more. So I sent my card back to him since we were about to land. A lady sitting across the aisle overheard all of this and she also asked for information. Six people in about 45 minutes! The stewardess is from Houston and I told her to contact me so I could send her info about the Houston groups.
